HandyHive Launches Post a Job with AI Intake and Smart Worker Match

HandyHive has launched Post a Job, a new customer flow designed to remove one of the biggest friction points in local services: not knowing how to start.

Instead of searching categories first, customers can describe their issue in plain language, publish a structured request quickly, and get matched with relevant professionals.

What Is Included in This Release

1. Post a Job (AI-Guided Intake)

Customers can now start from a dedicated /post-a-job page where an assistant structures the request in a short, guided flow.

Core flow:

  1. Problem description and category inference
  2. Optional photo attachments (up to 5)
  3. Location, timeline, and budget capture
  4. Final review before publish

In typical cases, the post can be published in around one minute.

2. Smart Worker Match Notifications

After publish, HandyHive now ranks and notifies professionals in priority batches using weighted matching criteria:

  • Category fit
  • Distance
  • Rating quality
  • Availability
  • Plan level (low weighting)

If no positive response arrives in the first wave, the next batch is released automatically.

Why This Matters

This release improves outcomes for both sides of the marketplace:

  • Customers get faster and more relevant first responses
  • Professionals receive fewer low-fit notifications and clearer opportunities
  • Platform quality improves by reducing broad notification noise

Trust and Privacy Controls

Post a Job ships with practical safeguards:

  • Full address remains private until quote acceptance
  • Job text is checked before publish
  • Intake progress is saved so users can resume later

Availability

Post a Job is now live for customers on HandyHive.

The /post-a-job route is available now, and broader end-to-end localization across the job-post and opportunities experience is still rolling out.
