Secure Payments Are Here: Introducing Stripe on HandyHive

We've integrated Stripe into HandyHive to handle all payments on the platform — from booking deposits to professional subscription plans. Stripe is one of the most trusted payment processors in the world, used by companies like Amazon, Shopify, and Airbnb.

Here is everything you need to know about how payments work on HandyHive.


For Customers: Paying for Services

When you book a service through HandyHive, your payment is processed securely by Stripe. You never enter your card details into HandyHive directly — everything goes through Stripe's encrypted, PCI-compliant checkout.

What this means for you:

  • Your card details are never stored on our servers
  • Payments are protected by Stripe's fraud detection
  • You'll see HandyHive on your bank statement
  • Receipts are sent automatically to your email after each transaction

For Professionals: Subscription Plans

Handyworkers on HandyHive can choose from three subscription plans, billed either monthly or annually (annual billing saves you money).

Ads Only

The entry-level plan. Get your profile listed and visible in search results so customers can find and contact you directly.

  • Great for professionals just starting out
  • No booking tools — simple visibility on the marketplace
  • Available on monthly or annual billing

Bookable

Everything in Ads Only, plus the ability to receive and manage bookings directly through the platform.

  • Customers can book you instantly without having to contact you first
  • Access to the full professional dashboard — schedule, client history, earnings
  • Instant payment processing when a booking is confirmed
  • Available on monthly or annual billing

Bookable Priority

The full package. Everything in Bookable, plus priority placement in search results and category listings.

  • Your profile appears at the top of relevant searches
  • Higher visibility means more bookings
  • Ideal for established professionals looking to grow
  • Available on monthly or annual billing

Managing Your Subscription

Handyworkers can manage their subscription directly from the Billing section of their dashboard:

  • Upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time — changes take effect at the next billing cycle
  • Switch between monthly and annual billing
  • Cancel whenever you need to — no long-term contracts, no hidden cancellation fees
  • Download invoices for all past payments straight from your dashboard

Everything is handled through Stripe's secure customer portal, so your billing details are always encrypted and protected.
