Sign In Your Way: All Login Options on HandyHive

We know that a smooth sign-in experience is the first step to everything else on the platform. That's why HandyHive now supports five different ways to log in — so you can use whichever feels most natural to you, whether you're a homeowner booking a service or a professional managing your business.

Your Login Options

Email and Password

The classic option. Create an account with your email address, set a password, and you're in.

  • Your email is verified with a confirmation code before your account is activated
  • Passwords are securely hashed — we never store them in plain text
  • Forgotten your password? Use the Forgot Password link on the sign-in page to get a reset link sent to your inbox

Google

Sign in with your existing Google account — no new password to remember.

  • Works with any personal or Google Workspace account
  • Your name and profile photo are pulled in automatically
  • Fast and available on all devices

Facebook

Use your Facebook account to sign in in one click.

  • Requires your Facebook account to have a confirmed email address
  • Only your public profile and email are accessed — nothing else

LinkedIn

Ideal for professionals. If you're a handyworker signing up to list your services, signing in with LinkedIn means your professional identity is already attached.

  • Works with personal and company LinkedIn accounts
  • Your name and profile photo sync across automatically

X (Twitter)

Sign in with your X account for a quick, social-based login.

  • Available for both customers and professionals
  • Requires your X account to have an email address linked to it

How Account Merging Works

If you sign up with email first and later try to sign in with Google (using the same email address), HandyHive will recognise you and link both methods to the same account. You will never end up with duplicate accounts for the same email.

Email Verification

For email/password accounts, we send a 6-digit verification code to your inbox when you register. You have 15 minutes to enter it before it expires — if it runs out, just request a new one.

This step keeps bots off the platform and ensures every professional profile is tied to a real, contactable email address.

Keeping Your Account Secure

A few tips to stay safe:

  • Use a strong, unique password if you're using email/password login
  • If you ever see unexpected activity on your account, change your password immediately and contact our support team
  • OAuth logins (Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, X) rely on those providers' own security — keeping those accounts secure keeps your HandyHive account secure too

We're working on additional security features including two-factor authentication — stay tuned for updates.

If you run into any trouble signing in, reach out via the Help section or drop us a message and we'll sort it out.
